Ho’omaluhia Miniature Show and Sale

The Association of Hawai’i Artists (AHA) is having it’s miniature show at the gallery at the visitor center of State Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens through November 30, 2022. The park is open to the public every day from 9am to 4pm. Sales of the artwork are done directly between the artist and collector, off site, which means that if you see something you like, contact AHA or the artist directly and make arrangements on how much, how you will pay, and how the artist will deliver the painting to you.

The show was juried by Andy Lee, a successful cartoonist, and generous juror. He stayed till the end of the opening reception and drew quick sketches of the artists who were selected for awards. It was nice to go to an opening like this after all the COVID19 shutdowns for the past couple of years.

I have 3 plein air watercolors of the view from my studio, which is 10 minutes walk away from the entrance to the park done on 3 different mornings and weather. I never tire of looking at and painting the Ko’olau. In fact, I am working on a mini sketchbook this month with a small sketch done each day, and I’ll post when the month is done.
