Tagami and Powell Gallery open Sat/Sun April 8/9

It’s a rare treat to have this gallery open to the public so I will be there on Saturday with a friend to admire Kenny Kicklighter’s amazing work and on Sunday with my mom so she can meet the artist who created her treasured bowl and vase. It is also an amazing garden with a history of love for Hawai’i and her people. Tagami was so influential on so many artists, not excluding me. His style was not my style, but the role model he represented to me meant alot.Kenny Kicklighter, ceramicist. Tagami was known for his impressonist paintings of koi as well as the Ko’olau, which is a recurring theme of mine.
