Hawai’i Watercolor Society’s Open Juried Show opens on First Friday to the public. Besides Wahi Pana: A Sense of Place, an exhibit sponsored by the Artists of Hawaii Association (AHA) earlier this year, I will have a few works in this open juried show that I wrote the proposal on the concept for on behalf of the Hawai’i Watercolor Society. The concept was to bring together two disparate data sets of experience and expertise into one space and see if there could be an exchange of ideas for both publics.
Chemistry of Water asked watermedia artists to submit work that explored the theme of the chemistry of water or painting in water based media. I also scheduled a lecture series of scientists to come and talk about their area of expertise with the theme of Chemistry of Water. The programming is exciting and I intend to attend all of them. My days working with the best of the best in the Volvo Group with leading scientists, engineers and researchers made every new project a delight to learn about what humans are capable of discovering and finding useful applications for their knowledge.
The selected pieces as well as award winners can be viewed on the Hawai’i Watercolor Society’s homepage.
