AHA Aloha Show at Honolulu Hale
March 6, 2018 @ 08:00 - March 23, 2018 @ 17:00
The Annual AHA Aloha Show opens on March 6 through 23 2018 at Honolulu Hale, the City and County of Honolulu’s beautiful main building. The show this year was juried by Tony Martins, professor of art at Windward Community College, a respected pastellist landscape artist whose work are in corporate and public collections and on display at the college as well as the Daniel Inouye International Airport.
A public reception will be held on Thursday March 6 from 4-6pm at Honolulu Hale and is open to the public. Pupus and refreshments will be served as well as a presentation by the board and jurors for awards of merit.
All works are for sale through the AHA board, or you can contact me directly if you are interested in my pieces.
This year, I entered a different type of genre. I painted a semi fictional narrative of when my young cousin Atsuko came to visit a few years ago. We took them to Byodoin the replica of the famous temple outside of Kyoto and she got to feed the koi. I visited Byodoin and found that our replica was more beautiful than the original…something I did not expect. For a kid, this one in Temple Valley is way more fun.
